Meet Jenny
Jenny is married with three children: Vohn, 14; Angela, 12; and Jaden, 2 months
old. With no apparent family history of hemophilia, Jenny and her husband Stan never
suspected that Vohn might have hemophilia. With his diagnosis coming out of the
blue, acceptance was very hard for their entire family. Stan and Jenny were in denial
for months. Almost every night, they’d find themselves waking up and thinking…what
could they have possibly done differently to change things for Vohn?
“Before getting diagnosed, Vohn was always in and out of the hospital. He had a
lot of outpatient office visits, too, and always had extra bleeding. Every time
he had dental work or even just a wiggly tooth, he would bleed. His doctors and
dentists never suspected hemophilia, so Stan and I never thought anything was unusual...”
