Meet Kris

Kris

Kris raised two sons with hemophilia: Todd, born in 1978, who passed away, and Peter, born in 1980. Her family has no known genetic history of the disease. A tireless champion of hemophilia and AIDS education and support, Kris has touched countless lives over the years, both in her native New York region and all over the country.

"One day I realized that all the effort and energy that I had put into being angry, upset, and frustrated could be used to do something positive. You can take the bad you've been confronted with and cry about it, feeling sorry for yourself. Perhaps that behavior provides short-term relief, but it doesn't really change anything. What does matter is doing something to make it better."
