Mom2Mom
Hearing another mom’s story can make you feel less alone and help you rise to the challenges of parenting a child with hemophilia. The Mom2Mom program provides a platform for hemophilia moms to share stories, advice and other information about raising a child with hemophilia. What’s more, you can get hemophilia moms in your area together for your own Mom2Mom event. These events can be a great way to meet and connect with other moms.
A typical Mom2Mom event includes:
- A guest speaker. At each event, one special Mom will discuss her hemophilia story — from her child’s diagnosis, to challenges faced and overcome, to choosing treatments.
- Open discussion. The guest speaker’s presentation will give way to an open discussion for moms to share their own thoughts and experiences, as well as pose questions.
Other Mom2Mom events:
This year, moms have connected through our Mom2Mom program all over the United States.
In Cincinnati, Ohio, Hemophilia Mom DeAnn Jackson shared her story at a Let’s Go Doodlin’ event while participants created their own artwork.
At a speaking event In Cedar Rapids, IA, other Hemophilia moms listened to Lori Kunkel tell her story about learning to deal with hemophilia.
In Portland, Oregon, moms shared their experiences raising children with hemophilia. During this event, Hemophilia Mom Rhonda Boni-Burden spoke to these moms and other caregivers of her own experiences.
Mom2Mom program events give moms of kids with bleeding disorders a chance to connect with other moms in their situation, and to share stories and get advice.
